The congregation of Bayou de Chine Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Water Valley, recently hosted a dedication service for a newly erected monument featuring names of present and past members of the church who honorably served their country in the armed forces. The monument currently features twelve names, with additional names to be added when they become available.

The Fulton/South Fulton American Legion Post provided a color guard for the ceremony which included raising of the flag, a twelve-gun salute, and the playing of taps. Families of the servicemen whose names are inscribed on the stone were honored with a luncheon and received a military Bible in honor the occasion.
