Gibson EMC scheduled outage this weekend

November 30, 2018

The Tennessee Valley Authority will have planned outages this weekend that will affect Gibson Electric Membership Corporation members who are served through the Clinton, Alamo and Maury City substations. The TVA outages are required to make equipment repairs.
TVA’s outage for members served through the Clinton substation will begin at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night, December 1. This outage is expected to last about two hours. Gibson EMC’s Clinton substation serves members in rural Graves, Hickman and Carlisle counties.

TVA’s outage for members served through the Alamo and Maury City substations will begin at 12:01 AM Sunday morning, December 2. This outage is also expected to last about two hours. Gibson EMC’s Alamo and Maury City substations serve members in and around Alamo, Crockett Mills and Friendship.

Gibson EMC will attempt to contact by telephone our members who will be affected. If you are served through the Clinton, Alamo or Maury City substations and you have not received a call, please contact us to ensure that we have your correct telephone number.

TVA has informed us that a second outage will be required to complete the needed repairs. We will communicate details once they have been confirmed. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but the work TVA is doing will help protect long-term service reliability.
