South Fulton Elementary Beta Club gives back to Harrah’s Hope Lodge
Harrah’s Hope Lodge may not be a place that is familiar to many people.
At South Fulton Elementary and South Fulton High, however, it is a place that is very special.
Harrah’s Hope Lodge provides lodging to people who are undergoing cancer treatments and live more than 40 miles or one hour from their treatment center.
Johnnie Cloar is the mother of SFE Principal Laura Pitts, and while she was undergoing cancer treatments, she stayed at Harrah’s Hope Lodge so she wouldn’t have to travel back and forth during that time.
Coach Eric Knott, Head Football Coach at South Fulton High School, also stayed there while he underwent cancer treatments.
The South Fulton Elementary School Beta Club wanted to give back to Harrah’s Hope Lodge for all that they do for cancer patients, and specifically for what they did for two important people in the South Fulton Community.
They held a collection drive for things such as household items and nonperishable food items and had great involvement from the community.
