We're Not Going Anywhere

June 15, 2018

We apologize for the confusion, to those who have wondered about the auction signs posted at the location of The Current at 304 East State Line in Fulton. There will be an auction on June 30, to minimize the stockpile of office furnishings and equipment generated from the merger of The Fulton Leader, The Hickman Courier and The Hickman County Gazette. At that auction, the building will be up for bid, with the owner reserving the right to reject any bid. If the building sells, the purchaser of the building will take ownership subject to a lease The Current has for one year, to continue operations here at 304 East State Line, regardless of who owns the property. The property and the business operating as The Current are two separate entities. The property is owned by one party, the business operating as The Current is owned by another party, which is why whether the building changes ownership or not, The Current newspaper will continue operations at 304 East State Line for at least one year. We will continue to bring you the news which is most important to you, our readers from Fulton, South Fulton, Dukedom, Water Valley, Clinton, Columbus, Cayce, Crutchfield and Hickman, as well as our advertisers, for many, many years to come. Stay tuned for lots of positive things from The Current, as we upgrade our website, launch a new facebook page and provide you with the opportunity to stay up to date on what is happening in your community on a day to day basis, instead of only once a week in our print edition of The Current. If you have any questions, please give us a call at 270-472-1121 or 270-472-1122.
