Rita S. Alexander, Vice President of Human Resources and Member Services of Gibson Electric Membership Corporation, has issued a press release alerting area residents to a possible scam, associated with GEMC.

Some customers of GEMC and others may receive a message or a photo through their computer or phone which states it is from Gibson Electric, and that "you have been randomly selected to spin and get one unclaimed reward."

According to Alexander, it is a scam, and those who receive such a message or photo should not click on it, or click "OK". She stated it is a scam used to attempt to capture personal information from individuals or businesses.
