Miss Banana Festival entries sought
The Miss Banana Festival Pageant will be held Sept. 7 at Fulton High School on Stephen Beale Drive, with categories to include Baby Miss for ages birth to 12 months, beginning at 9 a.m.; Mini Miss, ages 13 to 23 months at 9:45 a.m., Tiny Miss for ages two to three years, at 10:30 a.m., Little Miss, ages four to six, at 11:15 a.m. and Junior Miss, ages seven to nine years at 1 p.m.
Beginning at 2 p.m., the Pre-Teen Miss category will be held for ages 10-12 years, followed by the Teen Miss for ages 13-15 at 3 p.m., and ending with the Miss Banana Festival pageant for ages 16-21 at 4 p.m.
A brief intermission will be held between the Little Miss and Junior Miss categories. Contestants should note that stage times designated are subject to run behind, dependent on the number of contestants in each category, however the designated start time assures participants that age divisions will not begin prior to that time.
Contestants from all states and counties are invited to participate, with entry fee $25 for Beauty and $5 for Flair for Fashion competition.
Pre-registration and door registration will be accepted, with those registering at the door asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to the designated time.
Queens will receive a trophy, embroidered sash and crown while all Maids receive a trophy and sash. All Queens must be available to participate in the Banana Festival Grand Parade Sept. 21 and assist in the serving of the One Ton Banana Pudding.
Entry forms may be obtained online by visiting www.theBananaFestival.com, at the Fulton City Hall on Nelson Tripp Place or the Twin Cities Chamber of Commerce in the South Fulton Municipal Complex.
Checks or money orders should be made payable to Fulton Tourism, P.O. Box 1516, Fulton, Ky. 42041. Completed registration forms and fees may be taken to Fulton City Hall or the Twin Cities Chamber of Commerce.
