Head Bulldogs’ Coach sees improvements in game #2

While Friday night’s scoreboard at Fulton’s home field did not reflect a mark in the win column for the Bulldogs, Head Coach Harold Hutcherson was pleased with the progress made by his team, from the previous game’s performance.

“I saw this team do what I know they are capable of. We competed. Defensively, we saw great improvements. Hunter Hayes had five solo tackles and six assists. Devaris Scott had four solo tackles, six assists and a sack. Amari Hobbs had five tackles and four assists. Hobbs also caused a fumble in the end zone, that was recovered by Devaris,” he said.

At the end of first quarter play, the score was tied at 0-0. By halftime, the Bulldogs had put a touchdown and a two point conversion on the board, with Gleason doubling the points, 16-8.

Offensively, Quarterback Camarae Cobb made eight completions for 130 yards, and rushed 45 yards in five carries.

Jahiem King scored across the middle, 40 yards in, with Hunter Hayes adding the two point conversion.

Near the end of the fourth quarter Kire Tribble came in for Cobb, and threw a 25 yard pass to Amire Hobbs for the other TD, with Hayes once again taking the ball into the end zone for two.

“Offensively, the effort was much better. We did make a few changes that seemed to make a difference. Tristan Lalley, a freshman, who usually plays linebacker, came in and played guard and that worked well,” Hutcherson said.

The final score was 40-16, for a Gleason win.

This Friday, Coach Hutcherson said he would like to see community support for this Friday’s match up between the Fulton Bulldogs and the Fulton County Pilots, at the Bulldog’s home field at 7 p.m.

“If we come out and play the way we did in the first half against Gleason, we will definitely compete,” he said, adding he wanted to express his and his team’s appreciation for the ongoing effort in a Friday evening meal furnished for the team by community volunteers.
