John Sublett Gambill, a resident of Fulton, died Sept. 21 at Baptist Health of Paducah. He was 54.

Funeral services were scheduled for Sept. 25 at 11 a.m. at Hornbeak Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton, with Miles Mayo and Fred Seavers officiating. Burial was to follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation was from 5 - 8 p.m. Sept. 24 at Hornbeak Funeral Home. Hornbeak Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Loggins Gambill, of Fulton, to whom he was married Dec. 23, 2005; a daughter, Lindsey (Emory) Goggins, of Alexander City, Ala.; two grandchildren, Ellis and Charleigh Goggins, of Alexander City; four nieces; one nephew; one great-nephew; and two brothers, Joseph M. (Beth) Gambill, Jr., of Olney, Texas, and James C. (Debra) Gambill, of Bowling Green.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph M. Gambill, Sr. and Margaret Sublett Gambill; and one nephew.

Born Oct. 17, 1964 in Union City, Tenn., he was a member of Pilot Oak Church of Christ. He was very active in the Twin Cities community of Fulton and South Fulton, was a member of the Twin Cities Men’s Organization and a Banana Festival Committee member. He served as an EMT, Volunteer Fireman and auxiliary Police Officer. He was a member of the Fulton Tourism Commission board and the City of Fulton’s Zoning board.

He was a lifelong resident of this area, having worked for the former Turner Dairy, Inc., in the milk bottling department for 18 years. He was employed also employed for 13 years at the Lean To Restaurant in South Fulton.
