Robbie L. Jewell Kelly, a resident of Booneville, Ark. and formerly of Hickman County, died Sept. 21 at Mercy Hospital in Ft. Smith Ark. She was 96.

Graveside services were held Sept. 25 at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, in Clinton. Visitation was held Sept. 25 from 9:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington. Milner & Orr Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhea Jewell Kelly Nelson (Gene), of Booneville; a son, Billy Earl Kelly (Nancy), of El Paso, Texas; four grandchildren, Dr. Joseph Lee Davis (Diane), of Louisville, Chris Kelly, of El Paso, and Aaron Nelson (Theresa) and Nikki Nelson Welcher (David), all of Nashville, Tenn.; seven great-grandchildren, Audrey, Tyler and Beth Davis, all of Louisville, C.J. Kelly, of El Paso, and Casey Jarvis and Cody and Keith Nelson, all of Nashville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter A. Jewell, Sr. and Linda Belle (Mama Linda) Pharis Jewell; her husband, William Arnett Kelly; a granddaughter, Tracy Marie Kelly; and several sisters and brothers, Evelyn Louise Jewell, Billy Carroll Jewell, Mary Queen Jewell Cunningham and Walter A. Jewell, Jr.

Born Aug. 7, 1923 in Hickman County, she lived in Hickman and Carlisle County most of her life and graduated from Central High School in Clinton.

She was a member of Arlington first Baptist Church.

When she got her Beautician’s license, she opened “Robbie’s Beauty Shop” in Arlington around 1954 and “did hair” for 30 years.

She was a seamstress and made clothes for her family and friends and helped her husband find and restore antique furniture.

She loved the Lord, her church, her family, her friends, her customers, loved living in Arlington and was the biggest fan of Kentucky Wildcat basketball.

She never met a stranger and when she moved to Booneville, she made friends at the Booneville Senior Center and loved going everyday to play dominoes.

She will be missed by everyone that knew her.
