The South Fulton Red Devils closed out their football season with an impressive win at Gleason.

The Red Devils jumped out to a 46-8 halftime lead, and went on to beat the Bulldogs 54-8.

“I am really proud of the effort the guys put on the field,” said coach Eric Knott. “It was a really good week of practice, probably one of the better we have had, and a good team effort on Friday night. I wondered how we would respond following the loss to West Carroll, but the guys really finished in a big way.”

South Fulton ran out to a 24-0 first quarter lead, thanks in part to a 12-yard touchdown run by Dalton Gray, a seven-yard touchdown run by Greg Davis, and a 14-yard scoring pass from Bryce McFarland to Eli Carlisle.

Gleason put their only score on the board to start the second quarter, when Brady Witherspoon crossed the endzone on a one-yard run.

Following this score, the Red Devils offense jumped into gear again.

Gray made the score 32-8 on a 54-yard run, with Davis scoring his second touchdown on a six-yard run.

The final score of the first half came when Gray scored his third touchdown on a 14-yard run.

Coach Knott’s team ended the game, and years scoring in the third quarter, with a seven-yard touchdown run by Mason Harper.

On the night, South Fulton put together 362 yards of total offense, compared to 189 by Gleason.

Greg Davis ended his high school playing days with 127 yards rushing, followed by Dalton Gray 88, Dylan Ransom 28, Cory Applewhite 26, Mason Harper 17 and Bryce McFarland 9.

McFarland was 3-for-3 in the passing category for 67-yards, with Brock Brown gathering 35-yards and Eli Carlisle 32-yards.

The win closed the Red Devils season with a 5-5 record.
