Tree dedication, fireworks planned Sat.

December 03, 2019

Two new features will be added to this year’s Christmas In The Park scheduled for Saturday, with the official dedication and lighting of a new Christmas Tree, followed by a fireworks display and a performance by the Fulton Independent Schools Choir.

The Fulton Tourism Commission’s Christmas In The Parks begins at 5 p.m., with the public invited to gather around the Pontotoc Park fountain, where the new tree has been mounted for display during the holiday season.

From 5-7 p.m., a Story Walk will take children along a path in the park, to read excerpts from the book, The Mitten, with the book provided to children free of charge at the conclusion of the walk.

Vendors will be set up along vendor row, adjacent to Pontotoc Park, selling a variety of gift items, and inside the Pontotoc Park Community Center, Santa, Rudolph, Frosty, the Grinch, the Elves and friends will be on hand to talk to children and take photos.

The Twin Cities Men’s Organization, T.C.M.O., will stage the chili supper with Santa, beginning at 5 p.m., with all proceeds going to the funding of a shopping trip for Twin Cities children, to purchase clothing and other essentials. The cost is $5 per person and children 12 years old and under eating for free.
