GERALD “JERRY” CONDER

Gerald “Jerry” Conder, a resident of Hickman, died Dec. 25 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tenn. He was 90.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Dec. 29 at Strong Funeral Home, in Hickman, with Rev. Jeremy Brown officiating. Burial with Military Honors followed in the Hickman City Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 28 and 11 a.m. until the hour of service at Strong Funeral Home.

Strong Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his two sons, Patrick Steven Conder, of Danville, Va., and Daniel (Sarah) Conder, of Medina, Tenn.; a daughter, Amber Conder, of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and two step-granddaughters, Mary Grace Brittain and Hannah Beth Brittain.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kelty and Lovie Conder; his wife, Melinda (Patterson) Conder; and his brother, Kelty Campton Conder.

Born Aug. 12, 1929 in Lake County, Tenn., he was a retired employee of the former Goodyear Tire Plant in Union City, Tenn., a member of the Hickman Country Club in Hickman and a member of the former Church of Christ in Hickman.
He was a Veteran of the U. S. Navy having served in the Korean War.
