Recently, Garrett Ward, freshman at Hickman County High School, attended basketball camp at Bellarmine University, in Louisville, and won the 3 Point Accuracy Award.

Ward hit 26 of 30 3-point field goals for 87% accuracy.

Over several weeks, Bellarmine University’s basketball staff offers camps in the areas of fundamental skills, guard and post positions, and shooting for approximately 1,000 students who represent over 150 schools.

In the 2017-18 season, the Bellarmine Knights men’s basketball team had a 29-3 record. In its history, the Knights have won two Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) men’s basketball titles and three NCAA Midwest Regional titles.

On March 26, 2011, the Knights won their first NCAA Division II National Championship in Springfield, Mass. at the Mass Mutual Center. This year, the Great Lakes Valley Conference recognized 209 members from 18 different Bellarmine University athletic teams with Academic All-GLVC accolades.

The Academic All-GLVC honor is bestowed upon student-athletes who meet a cumulative GPA of 3.30 over two semesters of an academic year at the institution. Seven members of the men’s basketball team were recognized with this honor.
