AREA OBITUARIES -- CHRISTINA MOODY JONES

Christina Moody Jones was born to Willie and the late Olivia Smith Moody on Dec. 25, 1978 in Union City, Tenn. On June 24, 2020, Christina’s work was done here on Earth, so she went to receive her Heavenly reward.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Olivia Moody, of Fulton; two uncles, Jerome Calloway and Walter Cavitt, of South Fulton.

She leaves to cherish her memory, husband James Jones Jr., of Murray; her father, Willie Moody and friend Barbara Misher, of Fulton; two daughters, Dominque Moody, of Bowling Green, and Hadassah Elkins, of Murray; a son, Gabriel Elkins, of Murray; a step-son, James M. (Brittany) Jones III, of Columbus, Ohio; a step-daughter, Jazmine Mari Jones, of Murray; grandchildren, Arianna, Montez Dee, J’nyla Rae, and Journee Mae Jones, of Columbus Ohio; two grandmothers, Carol Moody, of Ypsilanti, Miss., and Thelma Smith, of South Fulton; an uncle, Aaron Tony (Robin) Moody, of Martin, Tenn.; an aunt, Paula Cavitt, of South Fulton; a host of cousins and friends; and special friends, Minister Michael Pickens, Bonnie Mimms, April Cavitt, and Natasha Boyd.

She was a graduate of Fulton High School, in Fulton, where she played in the band. A two-time graduate of Murray State University, in Murray, and an ITT Tech, in Nashville, Tenn., her majors were in Telecommunications Computer Technology. She received her Master’s in Psychology and degree in counseling.

She received Jesus at an early age and loved to talk about God’s goodness. She was employed at Hickory Woods Senior Living until she was too sick to work. She was a member of New Life Church, in Murray.

She loved her family deeply and had great fellowship with others. She loved writing poems, reading God’s work, listening to gospel music, and watching movies.

She will truly be missed.
