‘Farm to Fork’ assists Mission House

The second annual Hickman County Farm to Fork dinner was held at the First Assembly of God Church in Clinton Aug. 10. The dinner was organized by the Hickman County Extension office to increase awareness of the local food movement and to partner with organizations in order to benefit the Mission House food pantry.

The event was sponsored by Davis Farms, Weatherford Farms, TOSH Farms, Ohio Valley Insurance, Wade Farm Financial, Nutrien Ag Solutions, Hickman County Fiscal Court, River Valley Ag, Security Seed, and KY Proud- Farm to Fork Grant from Kentucky Department of Agriculture.

Contributors that helped make the dinner possible were Kris and Martie Templeton, Nancy Davis, Madelyne Reynolds, Kristia Perry Reynolds, Jakob Stahr, Kenny Wilson, Tommy Roberts, Brett Mitchell, Josh and Stacy Peyton, Mitzi Spraggs, Greg Gunter, First Assembly of God Church, Judy Long, Cunningham Farms, Glen Rushing, Cindy Brown, Larry Armstrong, Deena Morrison, Jacob Ladders Microgreens, Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese, Tillie Coffman, Tosh Farms, Linda Lawrence, Chaney’s Dairy Barn, and First Community Bank.

Hilary Perkins and Hickman County FCCLA volunteers Gabby Collins, Harlee Byassee, Lauren Pittman, Zeke Goodman, as well as, Darian Irvan and Hickman County FFA volunteers Lexy Riddle, Dawson Naranjo, Eli Armbruster, Hannah Carroll, and Chase Adams helped to prepare and serve the dinner.

Hunter Wright and Carson Wright provided the entertainment during the Farm to Fork dinner.
The dinner was prepared using 42 pounds of pork, 60 pounds of beef, 65 pounds of green beans, 50 pounds of potatoes, 18 pounds of zucchini, 18 pounds of squash, 7.5 gallons of Chaney’s ice cream, 18 pounds of red peppers, 30 pounds of romaine lettuce, 25 pounds of cheese, eight pints of squash relish, 60 ounces of strawberries, nine pounds of onions, eight pints of pepper jelly, six quarts of salsa, one pound of bacon, 15 dozen
