Jr. Falcons beat Fulton County

A big second quarter for the Lake County Jr. Falcons proved to be the difference in a 30-20 win over Fulton County.

Following a scoreless first quarter, in which a Jr. Pilot touchdown was nullified on a penalty, the Jr. Falcons erupted for twenty-two unanswered points.

Fulton County attempted to rally in the second half, starting with a safety recovered by Luke Jackson, J’Shon Jones and Rez Westbrooks.

Still in the third quarter, the Jr. Pilots cut the lead to 22-8, when Max Gibbs connected on a 32-yard touchdown pass play to Wesley Brown.

Again in the quarter, Jones added to the Fulton County score, when he crossed the goal line from 12 yards out.

With the Lake County lead at 22-14 in the fourth quarter, the Jr. Falcons were able to seal the win with a 70-yard touchdown run.

The Jr. Pilots did score late on a Jones seven-yard pass to Gibbs for the final 30-20 score.

On the night for Fulton County, Ian Goodman led the team with 54-yards in rushing, followed by Max Gibbs 26-yards and J’Shon Jones 24-yards.

In the air, Gibbs passed for 73-yards in the game.

The Jr. Pilots fell to (0-1) and will play Thursday night at home against Fulton City.
