Now in his 17th year to head up the Fulton High School Lady Bulldogs’ Volleyball team Head Coach Chad Malray is quick to chart the path to a district championship, and that path is straight through Hickman County and Carlisle County.

“They will be the two greatest challenges we will encounter. We will have to become more consistent with both our serving and passing. Those basic skills are key to a successful season. It doesn’t really matter how athletic you might be, until you can master those two elements consistently,” Malray said.

Jasmine Reeves and Sherrel Walker are returning All-District performers from last year’s Lady Bulldogs team, and Malray noted both are solid leaders.

As far as shear athletic ability, Kyisha Everett, Jada Martin, Kereni Ware, Ca’Tya McManus and Jasmine McCloyn hold their own, while senior Hannah Pannel continues to be a steady presence overall for the team.

As to goals, Coach Malray indicated to “raise the bar each day in practice” as well as the level of competition in each match, if mastered by his Lady Bulldogs, will mean that success will find its way into the 2018 season.

“As far as individual payers, there are some who are ore athletic than others, but every member of our team will be important in the process, of meeting and surpassing our goals. There may be some girls who struggle in one area, but excel in another. That’s when it will be my responsibility as a coach to make sure and plug them in to the position which will allow them to showcase their specific skills,” Malray said.
