Overall key players for the Hickman County Varsity Volleyball team are Leann Jones, Carrigan Dowdy, and Jenna Morris as a setter, according to HCHS Head Volleyball coach Matt Gardner.

Gardner said the team’s greatest asset is adaptability. Players are being moved around to different positions and are able to adapt. Another strength for the team is their serving ability.

Gardner said the greatest challenge the young varsity team faces is searching for an identity. Although the team has been successful in prior seasons, the team has lost three seniors and over 200 kills for this season.

Gardner said the team goals for the 2018/19 season are to win districts and challenge in the all A tournament.
Gardner added that Hickman County has never won a regional tournament, but that he believes this year’s team is capable of winning on that level.
