Jackson Christian prevails over Devils, Lady Devils

The Lady Red Devils were trailing at the end of the first quarter with 12 points while Jackson Christian School had 15 Dec. 22. During the second quarter the Lady Red Devils put up 13 points to take the lead with 25 points to Jackson Christian School’s 24 points. At the end of the third quarter the game was still tied at 36 points. The Lady Red Devils went into overtime with Jackson Christian School tied up at 44. The Lady Red Devils were defeated by JSC with a five point nightcap, 45-50.

Kailey Mayo hit two field goals to start the Lady Red Devils off in the first quarter scoring four of her eight game points.

In the second quarter Abbi McFarland had four of her nine game points coming from two field goals.

Katie Barclay hit a shot from behind the arc in the third quarter to score three of her five points.

Anna Gore had the game high of 12 points, hitting two three point baskets in the fourth quarter. Anna Gore was followed by Abbi McFarland with nine points and Kailey Mayo with eight points. Aubree Gore tacked on six points for the Lady Red Devils. Katie Barclay and Sophia Hodges both added five points for the Lady Red Devils.

Jackson Christian School got on top of the Red Devils and never let up after gaining a six point lead in the first quarter, 7-13. Jackson Christian increased their lead in the second quarter to eight points, 16-24. Jackson Christian School finished on top with a ten point lead 32-42.

Bryce McFarland led the Red Devils in points scoring 19 of their 32. McFarland hit four field goals, three- three point baskets and two of his four free throws.

Beau Britt had five points hitting two field goals and a free three throw. Brock Brown and Rider Whitehead both scored four points. Brown hit two field goals while Whitehead hit a field goal and a free throw.

The Red Devils gained the lead in the first quarter Dec. 28 against Houston County. The Red Devils had 13 points to Houston County’s eight points. The Red Devils gained a ten point lead in the second quarter with 27 points. The Red Devils tacked on another 14 points in the third quarter to make the score 41-30. The Red Devils finished the game on top of 60-46 final score.

Brock Brown started strong for the Red Devils scoring six points in the first quarter.

Rider Whitehead scored five of his game high 18 points in the second quarter, hitting a three point basket and a field goal.

Bryce McFarland had a three point basket and two field goals in the third quarter for seven of his 17 points.

Rider Whitehead finished the game hitting three field goals for his final six points.

Rider Whitehead led the Red Devils with 18 points, followed by Bryce McFarland with 17 points. Brock Brown had 11 points, Beau Britt had eight points. Conner Allen four points and Blake Rodehaver two points.
