As part of the Fall product nut/candy “Care to Share Program” local Girl Scouts collected donations and Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana then distributed the products to local organizations that help end childhood hunger.
Because local members of the Girl Scout troops love working directly with the Ken-Tenn food bank, located in Fulton, and the distributor of food items to those in need in Fulton, Hickman, Fulton County and local South Fulton, the group requested their donated products “truly stay local”.
The cookies that were included in this delivery were an added bonus from the council.

According to Ginger Bard, local Director for the Ken-Tenn Food Bank, the boxes of cookies distributed along with the usual food items were a special treat for those who received them.

“The foods we distribute each month are to provide the nutrition and necessities for families in need, but it was very special for the Girl Scouts to have chosen our recipients to be able to enjoy these delicious cookies,” she said.
