GOING BANANAS...THIS WEEK!!!
Today, Mon., Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., drop off entries for the Photo contest at Fulton's Pontotoc Community center. At 6:30 this evening, the "Peace, Love & Foliage" event is SOLD OUT! On Tues., Sept. 14, get your Banana Bake Off entries ready and drop them off at Fancy Fannie's Bakery at 422 Lake St. in Fulton, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with judging at 6 p.m. On Wed., Sept. 15, at 5 p.m., Tyson Foods hosts a free chicken meal for the community beginning at 5 p.m., and a Banana Pudding cook-off, a fundraiser for local non-profits, will take place beginning at 5 p.m. Participants may make a $5 donation, sample six different puddings and vote for favorite...at the Pontotoc Community Center in Fulton. Stay around that evening for a preview of the Circus Americana at 6 p.m. on South Fulton's Unity Park stage, Chalk Art contest and the Bethel College Renaissance Musical Performance beginning at 7 p.m. Don't forget about Thurs., Sept. 16 for the Senior Citizens Rook Tournament at 9 a.m. at the Pontotoc building, and entries for the Kiddie Parade at 6:30 p.m. At 7, don't miss out on the local talent at "Fulton's Got Talent" on the Unity Park stage! Tickets for Circus Americana performances Sept. 17 at 5:30 and 8 p.m., and Sun., Sept. 19 at 2 and 5:30 p.m. are available at Fulton City Hall, or online at www.thebananafestival.com.
