5K runners earn awards for effort

The Banana Festival 5K, held Sept. 17, began on Walnut Street at 8 a.m., in front of Raise The Bar gym.

Winner in the grade fifth through eighth category was Braddyn Owens.

Winners in the ninth grade through age 19 category were Addison Stubblefield and Jacob Grissom.

In the age 20-29 category, Logan Brimm was first and Devin Hughey, second. There were no female entries in this category.

In the age 30-39 category, winners were Tara Dowdy and David Romero,

For the age 40-49 category, Tommy Stewart was the male division winner, with no female entries.

Age 50-59 division, Teme Wyles was the female winner and Jeff Caldwell, the male winner.

In the age 60+ division, female winner was Jeanie Jones and male winner, Mark Wilhaucks.

Overall male winner was Tommy Stewart and overall female winner was Tara Dowdy, with Oldest Runner participating, James Spears, age 72.
