Batts HCES Teacher of the Month

(Editor’s Note: The following was submitted by Richard Todd, Hickman County Elementary School Principal)

One of the best smiles at Hickman County Elementary belongs to Nicole Batts.

Batts is one of the shining stars at HCES, a teacher who like many others puts her heart and soul into her job. She’s one of the first to arrive each day, entering the building with her daughter Nora in tow. Like her mother, Nora has a big smile on her face, so we can probably guess where she gets it.

Having started out in third grade language arts for a few years, then shifting to a self-contained second grade classroom, Batts has the best of both worlds this year, teaching language arts, social studies and science in 90-minute blocks to second grade students.

Perhaps Batts’ most appealing trait is her positive attitude; toward her co-workers, students and parents alike, Batts always has kind words and a big heart to go along with her great smile.
