Area runners compete at State Cross Country meet

Keeton Thornsberry of Holy Cross (Louisville) won the Varsity Boys 5,000 Meter Run Finals with a time of 15:46.39 at the Kentucky State Cross Country meet held Nov. 3, at New Horse Park in Lexington. There were 69 teams competing with286 competitors.

Runners from Fulton County were Isaac Madding 12th grade, 18:28.33, 59th place, 54 points; Camden Aldridge, 12th grade, 18:53.35, 79th place, 72 points; Chade Everett, 9th grade, 19:59.70; 150th place, 130 points; Hayden Murphy, 10th grade, 20:24.71, 173rd place, 148 points; Wesley Brown, eighth place, 21:05.09, 201st place, 21:05.09, 169 points; Harrison Posey 10th grade, 21:10.92, 205th place, 173 points; Luke Jackson, eighth grade, 22:49.59, 258th place, 221 points.

Hickman County competitors included Nick Coffey, 12th grade, 17:42.48, 25th place, 24 points; Samuel Dodson, 20:24.94, 174th place, 149 points; Zeke Goodman,12th grade, 21:21.84, 214th place, 181 points; Marcus Land 12 grade, 22:43.74, 254th place, 217 points; Daniel Tacker 12 grade, 23:00.96, 266th, place, 228 points; Tolley Cole 12 grade, 23:33.27, 266th place, 228 points; Austin Puckett, 12 grade, 25:30.43, 279th place, 241 points.

Holy Cross (Louisville) won the team points scorers times with 62 points; scores were 1+2+6+25+28 (29+36); and Times 2:02 1-5 Split | 16:49 Avg.

Fulton County placed 22nd, 573 team points, scores 54+72+130+148+169 (173+221), Times 2:36 1-5 Split | 19:46 Avg.

Hickman County received 30th place with 794 points, scores were 24+149+181+217+223 (228+241), Times 5:18 1-5 Split | 21:02 Avg.

Class A Girls results show Anna Rupp, ninth grader at Lexington Christian won the event with a time of 19:02.50, and 1 point.

Hickman County’s Emma Harris, a ninth grader, placed 82nd, with a time of 23:05.72.

Fulton County’s Emma Madding, a seventh grader, placed 145, at a time of 24:43.49.
