Search warrant results in arrest of Hickman resident

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation on Feb. 6, for illegal drug trafficking, at a residence in the city of Hickman.
During the investigation deputies were able to obtain a search warrant for the residence of Lamont P. Smith, of Hickman, who was later arrested for multiple drug trafficking offenses.
The search warrant resulted in the Sheriff’s office seizing two pounds of Marijuana, seven grams of crack cocaine, 59 dosage units of Fentanyl pills, and currency along with other items.
The Sheriff’s office was assisted by multiple agencies during the investigation.
Smith was charged with trafficking in marijuana (eight ounces to less than five pounds), 1st offense; trafficking in controlled substance, 1st offense (Carfentanil or Fentanyl derivatives); trafficking in controlled substance, 1st degree, 2nd or greater offense (greater or equal to four grams cocaine); and drug paraphernalia – buy/possess. The Fulton County Sheriff's office encourages the community to educate themselves and be aware of the dangers of Fentanyl, as well as report any information regarding illegal drug trafficking to the Fulton County Sheriff's Department or local law enforcement agencies.
