South Fulton Police Chief Mitchell Maynard and the SFPD Officers are urging South Fulton City residents to use caution and observe safety measures in the placement of basketball goals. "Basketball goals should be at least 10-12 feet from the city streets, so that the recreational games don't spill over into the street. It can obstruct the traffic flow, and it's just not safe to be playing basketball in the streets. The goals need to be set up so that there is plenty of room for playing, away from the city streets," Chief Maynard. He also reminds citizens violations of the city's restrictions on the distance of goal placement, away from the streets could result in further action by law enforcement.
