April 11, 2023

Fulton-South Fulton Rotary Club, for the second year, coordinated “Jump Into Spring on Lake Street”, April 8, to coincide with the organization’s smoked ham sale, this year with 180 hams sold and proceeds going to benefit Fulton and South Fulton graduating seniors, for college scholarships. Added to the 2023 activities, along with downtown Fulton merchants conducting sidewalk sales and special discounts, was the Blessing of the Animals and a collection for the local Fulton Pound, “Pennies for the Pound” which raised $1,060 for the Pound. Pound volunteer Darcy Linn accepted the donation from the Rotary Club April 12, and announced following the acknowledgment of the Rotary collection, she received an additional $1,000 donation. Free coffee and donuts were provided on Saturday to shoppers downtown by the Rotary Club, with drawings held for door prizes through registration at businesses. Winners in the drawings were Randal Dilday, Elaine Forrester, Keith Mullins and Windi Pryor, who won $50 each in Chamber Bucks; Allyson Dick, who won a manicure/pedicure; and Maurene Mathes, who won a surprise gift basket.
