Tourism Commission adds Aug. 12 performance to Concert Series

Fulton Tourism Commission convened in special called session June 1, and took action which resulted in another addition to the Tourism Commission's Free Summer Concert Series.

Tourism Commission members present included Melanie Gunn, Meribeth Gallimore, Ashley Fortner and Daniel Thomas. Interim Tourism Commission Executive Director Kenney Etherton was also present.

Darryl VanLeer, who has family ties to the community, the brother-in-law of Janice Couch and Lincoln McManus, will perform in a free concert on downtown Fulton's Lake Street Bandstand, Aug. 12 from 7-9 p.m., following the board's approval.

The concert will be free to the public with those planning to attend asked to bring lawn chairs, while enjoying the event.

Etherton was authorized by the board to utilize a budget of $5,000 for the concert.

Board member Derrick Jackson was absent.
