AREA OBITUARIES - Kay Newton

Kay Newton, 69, of South Fulton, Tenn., passed away Monday, June 26, 2023 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on July 9, 1953 in Fulton, KY to the late Billy Joe and Mary Jeanne Linton King.
Kay was a member of the Fulton Cumberland Presbyterian. She retired after 45 years (1975-2020) at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City, Tenn. When she retired, she was a RN Nurse Manager, and she cared for 18,155 babies.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, David Jones Newton, two daughters, Amy (Dave) Barclay of South Fulton, Tenn., and Ashley (Clint) Wilbanks of Martin, Tenn.; a son, Eric (Kim) Newton of Dyer, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Drew and Katie Barclay of South Fulton, Tenn., and Liam and Lottie Wilbanks of Martin, Tenn.; two sisters, Kathie (James) Turner of Fulton, Ky., and Cindy King of Herrin, Ill.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 30, 2023 at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, with Bro. Garrett Burns and Bro. Gordon Wilbanks officiating. Burial will follow in the Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m., Thursday.
