FHS CLASS OF 1978, 45 YEARS LATER
Members of the Fulton City High School Class of 1978 gathered in the Twin Cities July 14-15 to reunite after 45 years. On Friday evening class members gathered at The Southern State, for dinner and visiting, as well as live music. Those attending, above, were David King, Mike Cash, Greg Binford, Ricky Hagan, Connie Nelms Smith, Jim Bob Bowles, Pat Sullivan, Leisa Atwill Beaton, Toni Dallas Davenport, Benita Jeffress Fuzzell, David Sublette, Teresa Rice Moreland, Jody Sanders Vargas, Renee Yates Hempel, Martha Whitesell Young, Dave Peterson, Deirdre Newbern, Kim Craven Turner, Lora Taylor, Lisa Homra Sears and Jennifer Haddad Connell. On Saturday evening, the class met for a buffet dinner and reminiscing at The Meadows Hotel. A fresh cut arrangement featuring blue gladiolas centered the table. As classmates and guests entered the Kentucky Room, a small table was centered with a bouquet of seven white roses, the Class Flower, honoring classmates who have passed away, Jeff Morrow, Russ Cherry, Blan King, Debra King, Larry Harris, Ronnie Taylor and Jill Vaughn. Individual party cup favors, tied with royal blue ribbon and containing Banana Festival merchandise were to one side of the table, surrounding a framed print, displaying “Welcome FHS Class of 1978...Still A Whole Lot of Bulldog, and A Little Bit Bananas!” The other end of the table displayed individually wrapped decorated cookies featuring a Bulldog paw, Fulton City Bulldogs and FHS Class of ‘78, arranged for guests. Metallic royal blue “1978” helium balloons were placed above the buffet, with yearbooks and photo collages displayed around the room.
