KY Highway Water Over Road Report for District 1
UPDATE at 12:50 p.m. for Graves County
PADUCAH, Ky. (August 5, 2023) – Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) crews are making rounds to check on flooded highways across the region.
This report includes an addition for Graves County, plus an updated location for the washout on KY 464. Some of the items on this list are carryovers from Friday’s flash flooding.
At this hour we have the following to report:
Carlisle County
KY 1820 is CLOSED at the 2 to 3mm - Signs Posted
KY 1628 is CLOSED at the 3 to 4mm - Signs Posted
U.S. 62 is OPEN with Water Over Road signs posted at the 4 to 6mm in West Fork Creek Bottoms with some water on the edge of the roadway - KYTC Personnel Monitoring
Fulton County
KY 94/Carroll St is CLOSED in downtown Hickman due a mudslide near the 12.8mm between Moulton Street and Cumberland Street - Signs and Barricades Posted
KY 94 is CLOSED at the 7 to 11mm in the Lower Bottom “Dip” Area between KY 311 and KY 1099 - Signs and barricades posted
KY 94 has Water Over Road signs posted at the 23-26mm in Willingham Bottom between KY 1907 and KY 1125 east of Cayce
KY 1907/Swamp Root Road is CLOSED at the 0 to 3mm- Entire length
KY 2140 is CLOSED near the 3mm due to a culvert washout between KY 94 and KY 1129 - Signs and barricades posted
Graves County
KY 1283 is CLOSED at the 3.2mm immediately at the intersection with KY 58 - Signs Posted
KY 464/Backusburg Rd is CLOSED near the 3.5mm between KY 2205 and KY 1710 due to a washout near the end of a bridge - signs and barricades posted
Hickman County
U.S. 51 has Water Over Road signs posted at the 9 to 10mm North of Clinton with water on one lane - KYTC Personnel Monitoring
KY 3061/Coon Club Rd has Water Over Road signs posted at the 3 to 4mm in the Brush Creek area and the Whitlock Road intersection
KY 123 is CLOSED between the 14 and 16mm at Obion Creek in the Hailwell Corner Area - Signs and Barricades Posted
A flood watch is in effect for parts of the region. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a heat advisory for this afternoon due to a heat index expected up to 109. Go to www.weather.gov/PAH or monitor area news media for more specific weather updates and alerts.
