GIBSON ELECTRIC OUTAGES REPORTED

According to a press release from Gibson Electric Membership Corporation, on the morning of Aug. 12, storms in the area caused outages to 2,624 Gibson Electric Membership Corporation members' homes and businesses in Hickman and Fulton counties in Kentucky and in Obion and Lake counties in Tennessee.

There were 37 outage trouble spots initially with a continuing rise in that number throughout the day.

Gibson EMC is a local, not-for-profit, member-owned and member-controlled electric cooperative serving more than 39,000 homes and businesses in eight west Tennessee counties (Crockett, Dyer, Gibson, Haywood, Lake, Lauderdale, Obion and Madison) and four west Kentucky counties (Carlisle, Fulton, Graves and Hickman).
