SF City Manager tenders resignation

December 18, 2018

South Fulton City Manager Jeff Gabbert has submitted his resignation, effective Feb. 15, 2019.

Stating he wants to see the city through several regulatory and audit issues that are due to be completed in mid-February, Gabbert indicated in the press release received by The Current, he wanted to give 60 days notice to the Mayor and Commissioners.

Gabbert said "There is a lot of work to complete before mid-February that must be finished or the city may face some severe fiscal penalties."

He cited new opportunities that have been presented to him, and his family, as the primary reason for his resignation.

"There have been some unfortunate failures in communication with some commissioners lately. However, I have been given the opportunity to do the work I enjoy elsewhere. It has been an interesting 15 months and I wish the city all the best in the new year," Gabbert said.
