AREA OBITUARIES -- SHARON PIRTLE

Mrs. Sharon Elizabeth Hackett Pirtle, age 78, of South Fulton, Tenn. passed away Thurs., Dec. 28, 2023 at the West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin.

She was born on September 9, 1945 in Jersey City, N.J. to the late William Peter Hackett and Margaret Morrison

Thomas Hackett.

Sharon was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fulton and was a retired school teacher from the Fulton Independent School System.

She loved old movies, keeping up with movie stars and decorating for the holidays. She also loved shopping, the beach and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, David Mack Pirtle, to whom she was married on Aug. 5, 1967, a son David Mack (Bridget) Pirtle II of Fulton, Ky., a daughter, Kellea Margaret (David) Grant of Rutherford, Tenn. and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Pirtle of Fulton, Ky.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a granddaughter Annie Ruth Pirtle, who passed away Dec. 10, 2023 and a brother, Kevin Hackett.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 31, 2023 in the funeral chapel of Fulton's Hornbeak Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Water Valley Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 31 until the hour of service.
