KET to air festival

January 29, 2019

The next episode of Kentucky Life spotlights Fulton’s Banana Festival, set to air Feb. 2, 8/7 p.m. and Feb. 3, 4/3 p.m. on KET, as well as Feb. 4, 7/6 p.m. on KET2.

The program will highlight Fulton’s festival, an annual celebration that pays tribute to the town’s one time reputation as the “Banana Capital of the World”, thanks to its role as a prominent railway distribution point for the fruit in the late 1800s.

The highlight of the recent festival, held in September of 2018, included the making of a record setting one-ton banana pudding, with film crews on site for the festival events.

Kentucky Life is a KET production, produced by Brandon Wickey. Segment producers for this episode are Chelsea Gorham, Frank Simkonis and Angelic Phelps.
