AREA OBITUARIES -- MAURINE SIMRELL HIGGINS

Mrs. Maurine Simrell Higgins, age 100, of Jackson, TN and formerly of Fulton, KY passed Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at the Charter Senior Living Center-Memory Care in Jackson, TN.

She was born on July 26, 1924 in Obion County, TN to the late Henry Simrell and Argie Fitzpatric Simrell.

Mrs. Maurine was a member of Parkway Church of Christ and was a former licensed Beautician. She had also worked as a LPN for 45 years. She lived most of her life in this area.

She is survived by her children; Marian (Richard) Simmons of Paducah, KY, Marilyn Blevins of Munford, TN, Edwin Higgins of Smyrna, TN and Hardie (Belinda) Higgins of Jackson,

TN; nine grandchildren, Dion (Aaron) Maples of Pflugerville, TX, Rory Higgins of Jackson, TN, Jane Simmons of West Paducah, KY, Andy (Rebecca) Simmons of Fort Mill, SC, Cathy (Paul) Wells of Alpharetta, GA, Kim ( Craig) Clay of Covington, TN, Heather (John) Bowmer of Richmond, VA, Angelia Higgins of Rochester, MI and John (Gladys) Higgins of Murfreesboro, TN; ten great-grandchildren, a sister Bernice Neunsinger of Des Moines, IA, and a brother, Gerald (Delandis) Simrell of Elbridge, TN.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Hardy Higgins, two grandchildren; James Higgins and Heather Babb, a brother Charles Simrell and a sister, Louise Eckelhoff.

Graveside services for Mrs. Maurine Higgins will be held at 11AM Monday, August 5, 2024 in the Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3-5PM Sunday in our funeral chapel.
