TWIN CITIES LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL DURING BANANA FESTIVAL WEEK; CONTESTS, EVENTS LISTED FOR SEPT. 16-17
The Twin Cities of Fulton, Ky. and South Fulton, Tenn. are "Letting the Good Times Roll" this week during the 2024 Banana Festival, as contests and events begin today and tomorrow, and a full schedule the rest of the week through Sat., Sept. 21.
Today, Mon., Sept. 16, photo contest entries are accepted at the Pontotoc Community building downtown Fulton until 5 p.m., with judging for the contest Tues., Sept. 17, and entries accepted until 11 a.m. that day.
Also this evening, Sept. 16, the Peace, Love & Foliage event takes place at Pontotoc Park for ticket holders.
On Tues. Sept. 17, entries in the Banana Bake Off will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Fancy Fannie's Bakery, 422 Lake St., Fulton, with judging at 5 p.m. and winners announced at 6 p.m.
Tues., Sept. 17 at 5:30 p.m. The Amazing Banana Race/Scavenger Hunt for ages 12-18 will take place in the areas of South Fulton's Unity Park and Fulton's Pontotoc Park, with participants invited to share in the fun individually or in groups, and compete for prizes.
At 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tues., Sept. 17, Justin Wright and the Dirty Strings, a Southern Rock/Alternative Country band, take the Pontotoc Park stage for a free concert with concessions available for purchase.
Wednesday through Saturday will be packed full of events like the Tyson Community Meal, Faith and Family Night, Kiddie Parade and so much more! The official Banana Festival website is www.visitfultonky.com!
