Arrest made in Security Bank robbery

According to a press release issued by R. Allen Poole, Detective Captain of the Fulton Police Department, the Fulton Police Department and the South Fulton Police Department responded to a report of a robbery at the Simmons Bank on Broadway in South Fulton, Tenn. Feb. 20.

A male subject entered the bank and demanded money from the teller and fled on foot in the same manner as the suspect did in the Feb. 6 robbery of Security Bank and Trust Company in Fulton.
The South Fulton Police Department was able to track the subject and he was apprehended by the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department.

He was identified as 37-year-old Shantez Burnside of South Fulton.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Burnside had committed both robberies and he has been charged with Robbery 1st Degree, and Theft by Unlawful Taking Over $500.00 for the Feb. 6 robbery of Security Bank and Trust Company.
Burnside has been in the custody of the Kentucky Department of Corrections was released on parole Feb. 1, 2019.
