Fulton County FFA recently attended the 2025 State Convention in Lexington, Ky.
Food Science started the week off by competing. FFA members gained an experience where they learned about food quality, safety, and the overall aspect of the CDE. They enjoyed Local Taco and then Roosters sponsored by the Board.
The next day, students participated in leadership workshops and got to go to the Opening Session as well as hear from the University of Kentucky Men’s Basketball Head Coach Mark Pope.
During the second session Fulton County FFA (and Squizz) were put on the big screen to be recognized for their contribution to the staff of Fulton County by making them Candy Bouquets.
Then, Fulton County FFA was recognized as a Gold Rated Chapter, which is the highest honor a chapter can receive in the state of Kentucky and is measured by activities throughout the school year.
That night, members enjoyed a pizza dinner sponsored by Elder Jersey Farm.
The next day, Jackson Major received third place in the state with his Wildlife and Management Proficiency! Major’s SAE includes managing his family’s land and maintaining wildlife habitats.
That night, FFA members were able to cheer on our Food Science team who was recognized on stage and then we were recognized by Commissioner Jonathan Shell and our partnership with the Raising Hope Grant. Fulton County FFA also received a check from WAVE River Counties AG Initiativees AG Initiative- we appreciate their support.
The night ended with dinner sponsored by Fulton County FFA Alumni and then dancing the night away at the FFA Dance.
On June 12, Fulton County FFA wrapped up the convention by eagerly waiting to congratulate our four seniors, Hannah Murphy, Jackson Major, Josiah Waltmon and Emelia Wheeler for their hard work during their time in FFA. They were recognized on stage and received their golden charm worn on their state degree chains.
A healthy Fulton County requires great community news.
