AREA OBITUARIES – Sheila Moss Strickland

Sheila Moss Strickland, age 78, a resident of Baytown, Texas, and formerly of Fulton County, Ky., passed away early Monday morning, June 30, 2025, at the St. James House in Baytown, Texas. 
She was born on Jan. 1, 1947, in Royal Oak, Mich., to the late Albert and Reta Moss. 
She was a member of the Goose Creek Church of Christ in Baytown, Tenn. 
She married Dr. Royce Strickland of Baytown, TX, on April 29, 1989.
Sheila attended Cayce Elementary School, Fulton County High School, Freed-Hardeman College, and Abilene Christian University. She completed her education at Texas Christian University, where she obtained her Physical Therapy License. 
Sheila enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and was an avid pet lover, and had several rescue dogs throughout her life. She was devoted to her career as a Physical Therapist and Occupational Therapist and spent many years of her life working in hospitals in Houston, Texas, and, as a referred Therapist.
She is survived by her brothers, David Moss and Jim Moss; her sisters, Virginia Henson and Cynthia White; and her husband. Dr. Royce Strickland of Baytown, Texas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, David and Leah Kellogg- and her paternal grandmother, Zoma Moss.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tues., July 8, 2025, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, in Fulton. Bro. Caulyn Holbrook will officiate, and burial will follow in the Pleasant View Memorial Gardens. 
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the hour of service. 
Active pallbearers will be Matt Moss, Taylor Moss, Ethan Burke, Ralph Wayne Adams, Will Greer, and Joe Greer.
Donations in Shelia’s honor may be sent to your local rescue shelter or humane society.
