Open House for new Habitat for Humanity office to be held Aug. 10
August 05, 2025

An Open House at the new office and warehouse sites for Fulton-Hickman Counties Habitat for Humanity at 371 South Washington in Clinton will be held Sun. Aug. 10, between 1 - 4 p.m.
This is the first permanent location for the 24-year-old local affiliate, accomplished with funds from American Red Cross specifically for the building of the warehouse, and donations from many community supporters and the continuing loyal honoring of mortgage payments by Habitat partner families. Local equipment donations for dirt work and for truss, shingle, and siding placement were invaluable to these constructions as well as were the paid services of local electrical, plumbing, and HVAC professionals and the purchasing of all supplies from local lumber, hardware, and paint suppliers.
“This Habitat affiliate is where we are now, celebrating not only 22 family homes but also a permanent affiliate location, because of the gracious cooperation of professionals, suppliers, banking institutions, attorneys, city and county officials, churches and community organizations, and multitudes of individuals and other funding supporters,” Cherry Pyron, spokesperson for the affiliate said.
“But without local and out-of-state volunteers who have worked diligently together, alongside outstanding men from the Fulton County Detention Center, there would not be any of these Habitat buildings standing strong in our two-county service area,” she added.
Attendees are asked to use the parking spaces at the former Jakel building or the Health Department on the west side of Highway 51 because of limited space at the Habitat site. There is a concrete ramp for accessibility into the office.
A healthy Fulton County requires great community news.
