Both teams would trade the lead back and forth during the entire game, with the victor coming down to whoever had the ball last. The Pilots would score a touchdown with no time remaining to tie the game up at 40-40, and would convert the two-point attempt afterwards to get a walk-off home victory.
Both teams combined for over 1,000 total yards, as the Pilots would recorded 559 yards and the Colonels 473 yards.

Due to the government shutdown, the Fort Campbell at Trigg County originally scheduled for Fri., Oct. 3 was postponed until Thurs., Oct. 30. Due to this, the originally scheduled home game for the Pilots hosting Trigg County on Fri., Oct. 31 has been cancelled.
The Pilots have a bye week this week, but will hit the road Fri., Oct. 17 as they face the Ballard Memorial Bombers. With a win, the Pilots would secure a home playoff game.
