Ann Holt Newton, age 68, passed away Sat., Nov. 29, 2025, in Florence, Ala.
She was born July 20, 1957, in Tupelo, Miss., to the late Edward R. Holt and Shirley Houston Holt.
She was of the Methodist faith, had lived in Iuka, Miss., before moving to Killen, Ala. two years ago. She was a retired registered nurse who cared deeply for others throughout her career.
She is survived by two sons, Samuel Reid Newton, of Key West, Fla., and Thomas Holt Newton and his wife, LaShea, of Toney, Ala.; one grandchild, Radlee Newton, of Toney, Ala.; and one sister, Ellen Holt I’Anson and her husband, David, of Florence, Ala.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Mickey” Newton; her stepmother, Caroletta Samuels Holt; and one sister, Susan Holt Wait.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Fri., Dec. 5, 2025, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Greenlea Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 p.m. until the hour of the service.
