AREA OBITUARIES – Rosie Lawan “Wannie” Speight

Rosie Lawan “Wannie” Speight, age 89, of Fulton, Ky., passed away on Mon., Dec. 8, 2025, at Lifecare Nursing Facility in Centerville, Tenn.
She was born on Aug. 18, 1936, in Fulton, Ky., to the late Claude Walton Rozzell and Eula B. Nicholas Rozzell.
She was a member of Goods Spring Church and previously attended Walnut Grove. She retired as a social worker for the State of Kentucky and was a lifelong resident of the Fulton community.
She is survived by her daughter, Joanna Speight (Joe) Damons, of Dickson, Tenn.; and her granddaughter, Kayla Riannon (Robert) Damons, of Brentwood, Tenn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Joseph “Billy Joe” Speight; and her siblings, Claudine Chedester, Montez Grant, B. Rozzell, and Bo Rozzell.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Sat., Dec. 13, 2025 at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
Hornbeak Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
