AREA OBITUARIES – Sue Sawyer

Cera Sue Sawyer, age 85, of South Fulton, Tenn., passed away on Sat., March 28, 2026, at Baptist Health in Paducah, Ky.
She was born on Oct. 18, 1940, in Seymour, Ind., to the late Chester “Chet” Helmbrecht and Dorothy Ceasar Helmbrecht.
She was a devoted member of Fulton Cumberland Presbyterian Church in South Fulton, Tenn. She was formerly employed by the Ferry-Morse Seed Company in Fulton, Ky. and CBK in Union City, Tenn. 
Sue cherished time spent with her family, and her grandchildren were truly the pride and joy of her life.
She is survived by her loving husband, Leroy Sawyer, whom she married on Aug. 9, 1959; two daughters, Tracey Mires and Tina (Jeff) Morris, both of South Fulton, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Dylan (Victoria) Mires, of Paris, Tenn., and Jonathan Morris and Luke Morris, both of South Fulton, Tenn.; one great-granddaughter, Liv Mires; and one brother, Steve (Reva) Helmbrecht, of Lexington, Ky.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Mires, Jonathan Morris, Luke Morris, Jeff Morris, James Turner, and Corky Adams.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thurs., April 2, 2026, at Fulton Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with burial to follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
