Hickman to temporarily shut off gas meters townwide

The City of Hickman is notifying residents that all gas meters throughout the town will be temporarily shut off as crews work to address an ongoing issue with the city’s gas system.
According to the city, crews will cut off gas service at meters while the issue is being resolved. Once the problem has been addressed, city personnel will return to the meters and turn gas service back on.
Residents are being advised that someone must be home when crews arrive to restore service.
City officials emphasized that residents should not attempt to turn their gas meters back on themselves or tamper with any gas equipment.
The city said the temporary shutdown is necessary while crews work to resolve the issue and thanked residents for their patience and understanding.
