Lady Pilots sweep Fulton City in three sets

The Fulton County Lady Pilots turned in a dominant performance Thurs., Sept. 10, sweeping the Fulton City Lady Bulldogs in three straight sets, 25-18, 25-13, 25-15.
The Lady Pilots controlled the match from the opening serve, using strong serving and steady defense to pull away in each set. Fulton County never allowed Fulton City to find a rhythm as the Lady Pilots completed the sweep.
Fulton County finished with 12 kills on 41 attacks, hitting .024 for the match. Brooklyn Owens led the Lady Pilots with five kills, while Aubrei Wilson and Taylan Hendrix added three kills apiece. Tamaria Fitzpatrick contributed one kill.
Hendrix also paced Fulton County's setting effort with seven assists, while Owens recorded three and Sydnee Whitten added two as the Lady Pilots spread the ball around offensively.
The Lady Pilots were especially active from the service line, recording 14 service errors and 16 service attempts while producing several aces. Whitten led the team with five aces, followed by Wilson with three. Owens had three, Fitzpatrick one, Molly Parker one and Hendrix one.
Defensively, Fulton County collected 49 digs, with Wilson, Whitten and Owens each recording 11 to lead the team. Hendrix added 10 digs, while Ava Wheeler had four, Parker two and Fitzpatrick and Maci Curry one apiece.
At the net, Wilson recorded a team-high five solo blocks, while Parker added two, giving the Lady Pilots seven solo blocks overall.
Piper Cavness, R Tisia Walker and Behr Miller led the Lady Bulldogs’ serving attack with four aces apiece, accounting for all 12 of the team's aces. Walker and Miller also contributed to the team's offensive and defensive effort, with Walker recording an assist and three digs and Miller adding two assists.
Defensively, JNyia Robinson led the Fulton City with five digs, while Cavness recorded one dig and Walker added three.
The Lady Pilots improved their record to 4-7 with the victory, while Fulton City dropped to 1-4.
Next up for the Lady Pilots are the St. Mary High School Lady Vikings in the All A Classic Region 1 Tournament Sat., Sept. 12 at 8:30 a.m., while the Lady Bulldogs will host the Carlisle County High School Lady Comets Mon., Sept. 14 at 6 p.m.
