Scholarships, awards highlight Fulton County High Honors Night

Awards, Scholarships, and Academic Honors for Fulton County High School were announced at the 2019 Honors Night held at the We Believe Center of West Hickman Baptist Church May 23.

Receiving the Maurice Tucker Memorial Scholarship were A.J. Turner and Alaya Barnett.

Perfect Attendance awards for the 2018-2019 Academic year were presented to Rodrick Beard, Broc Bridges, Jakyla Crumble, Ta Myah Crumble, Hailee Edgin, Jacob Kellum, Adam Lyons, Isaac Madding, and Destiny Wiley.

Seniors receiving $1,500 scholarships from the Hickman Rotary Club were Savanna Roberts, Damyen Goodrich, Rachel Kelly, Jelynda “J.J.” Elliott, Josh Garrigan, Noah Miller, and Jake Mayo.

George Scott received the Best Pilot Award.

WoodmenLife History Award was awarded to Abby Bittenbender; and the American History Award High School WOW Scholarship of $200 to Kanisha Wooten, Landis Terrell, and Ta Shayah Freeman.

Malena Sipes was honored for recognition for being a Governor’s Scholars Recipient.

Jelynda “J.J.” Elliott was also recognized for receiving the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) Award.

Fulton County Alumni Scholarship was awarded to Damyen Goodrich; Mason Eakes received a $750 Mike Hayden Scholarship; A.J. Turner a four-year player $250 scholarship; and Christopher “C.J.” Smith, Jr.

Farm Bureau Scholarships were presented to Josh Garrigan, Rachel Kelly, Jake Mayo, Noah Miller, and Karlie Williams.

Jelynda “J.J.” Elliott received a $1,000 scholarship from River Valley Ag.

Kahari Miller and George Scott each received a $250 scholarship from My Brother’s Keeper.

Conservation Scholarships of $500 each were presented to Josh Garrigan, Isaac Madding, Noah Miller, and Jelynda “J.J.” Elliott.

Whipple Scholarships, amounting to $30,000, were awarded to Camden Aldridge, Delaynee Cermak, Jelynda “J.J.” Elliott, Josh Garrigan, Rachel Kelly, Isaac Madding, Jake Mayo, Noah Miller, Autumn Miller, Karlie Williams, Kanisha Wooten, Chloe Davis, Damyen Goodrich, and Justin Kelly.

The Silver Travel Lodge Award was received by Alaya Barnett.

Alumni of Fulton County Schools awarded a $300 Eagle Scholarship to Kanisha Wooten.

Karlie Williams received a $250 scholarship from Chase and Brey Jones.

The McWhirt Achievement award of $250 was presented to Jelynda “J.J.” Elliott and Jake Mayo.

Murray State University’s Dean’s awards were awarded to Camden Aldridge, Jelynda “J.J.” Elliott, Josh Garrigan, Jake Mayo, and Noah Miller.

Kahari Miller and Rachel Kelly received the $250 Teeny Greer Memorial Scholarship.

Noah Miller was awarded the $4,000 Joe Coffey Scholarship.

Hickman Electric System presented $500 Scholarships to Karlie Williams and Kanisha Wooten.

University Scholarships were awarded to Delaynee Cermak, $21,700 per year, Brescia University; Isaac Madding $39,000 per year, Georgetown; George Scott, $24,000 per year for five years, University of Pikeville; Kahari Miller, $24,000 per year for five years, University of Pikeville; Cameron McCauley, $52,000 for two years, New Mexico Military Institute; Savanna Roberts, WKCTC Scholarship; and Karlie Williams, $4,000 per year, West Kentucky University.

The Charles Speed Scholarship of $300 each was presented to Camden Aldridge, Delaynee Cermak, Karlie Williams, and Rachel Kelly.

Jelynda “J.J.” Elliott was awarded the Joey Bumpous Scholarship of $300.

Jake Mayo and Jelynda “J.J.” Elliott received the Joshua Taylor Scholarship.

Kanisha Wooten received a $1,000 ASAP Scholarship and $4,000 per year for four years from the University of Louisville.
