Former city worker pleads guilty
Benjamin Joseph Lattus, III, of Hickman, a former Hickman City Maintenance worker who was arrested Dec. 3 for charges of official misconduct, tampering with physical evidence, promoting contraband, trafficking in a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and bribery of a public servant, pled guilty during the May 23 session of Fulton Circuit Court.
His sentencing will be July 11.
Attorney Gorman Bradley was present for the May 23 session representing Daniel Thomas, who was indicted by the Fulton Grand Jury on May 9 for wanton endangerment, 1st degree.
The indictment was related to an incident at the Fulton County Detention Center when jail staff conducted a routine cell check, Oct. 26, 2016. Thomas was employed, there at the time, and an inmate was discovered unconscious. That inmate was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Kentucky State Police preliminary investigations indicated an overdose contributed to the death.
A July 11 pretrial conference has been set for Thomas.
