FIS, FCHS athletes place at State level Track, Field events

Fulton County’s High School (FCHS) and Fulton Independent’s School (FIS) Track and Field teams recently participated at the State Competition coming home with several awards.

Corey Smith, a sophomore at FCHS, won the Boys Triple Jump, with a jump of 13.22m.

George Scott, a senior at FCHS, placed 10th with a jump of 12.12m.

In the Mixed 2x50 mile Relay Unified, FCHS’s Brock Bridges, a sophomore, and Landis Terrell, a senior, placed 1st, with a time of 14.28; Roderick Beard, a freshman, and Michael Burns, a sophomore, placed 2nd, with a time of 14.63; and Callie Coulson, a sophomore, and Yulan Werking, a senior, placed 8th, with a time of 20.04.

Wesley Brown, an eighth grader at Fulton County Middle School (FCMS), placed 19, in the Boys 800 meter Run for High School, with a time of 2:11.00.

Fulton County’s Camden Aldridge, Isaac Madding, and Kahari, Miller, all seniors, and Wesley Brown, an eighth grader, placed 7th in the Boys 4x800 meter Relay, with a time of 8:48.85.

Javona Davis, a seventh grader at FCMS, placed 12th in the Girls 100 meter Dash, a time of 13.08.

Fulton City’s Brittany Maclin, an eighth grader, Jada Martin and Kyisha Everett, both sophomores, and Sherrel Walker, a junior, placed 24th, in the Girls 4x200 meter Relay event, with a time of 2:00.69.

FCHS’s Caleb Kimble and Armani Yandal, juniors, Cameron McCauley, a senior, and Corey Smith, a sophomore, placed 17th in the Boy’s 4x200 meter Relay.

FIS’s Kereni Ware, a senior, Brittany Maclin, an eighth grader, Sherrel Walker, a junior, and Kyisha Everett, a sophomore, placed 12th in the Girls 4x100 meter Relay.

Fulton County’s Caleb Kimble, a junior, Cameron McCauley, a senior, C.J. Smith, a senior, and Armani Yandal, a junior, placed 19th in the Boys 4x100 meter Relay event.

Javona Davis, a seventh grader at FCMS, earned 10th place in the Girls Long Jump High School event.

George Scott, senior at FCHS, placed 7th in the Boys Long Jump, with a distance of 5.83m; and 13th in the Boy’s High Jump, with a distance of 5’08” or 1.72m.

In the Mixed 4x100 meter Relay Unified, FCHS’s Broc Bridges and Michael Burns, sophomores, Rodrick Beard, a ninth grader at FCMS, and Landis Terrell, a senior at FCHS, placed 1st with a time of 55.58.

FCHS’s Brock Bridges, a sophomore, and Landis Terrell, a senior, placed 2nd in the Mixed 2x200 meter Relay Unified, with a time of 56.52; and Rodrick Beard, a ninth grader at FCMS, and Michael Burns, a sophomore, placed 3rd, with a time of 57.88.

Fulton County High School earned 14 team points, ranking them 17th in the state.
